Since 1999 Old Sam Rum has travelled from Guyana to Newfoundland where it is blended and bottled by Rock Spirits
The original recipe for Old Sam Demerara Rum stretches back to 1797 when Edward Young & Co. imported their rum from Guyana and brought the first barrels marked ‘Old Sam’ to London, England.
It is a very unique blend of Demerara Rums; one of the marques is produced on the world’s last operating wooden coffee still.
Aged for at least 15 months in Guyana Old Sam is a deep, dark, rich rum with prominent notes of brown sugar, coffee, tobacco and oak, punctuated with notes of died fruits, nuts and baking spices.
